Grey literature

When you are reviewing the available data and information on your topic, don't forget the grey literature!

Grey Literature is sourced outside the established domain of commercial publishing. It can be produced by a variety of sources including government, industry, business, NGOs, peak bodies, individuals, special interest groups and many others in a multitude of formats.

It can be challenging to systematically find grey literature in standard indexing or bibliographic databases.  It can also be beyond the reaches of search engines like Google, in what is known as the "Deep" or "Invisible Web".

Finding grey literature often requires a mixed approach. You may need to search databases, use common search engines, and browse websites and other materials that are relevant to the area of interest.
