Dr John Wallace (ret.)

John is the specialist Health Physicist within Forensic and Scientific Services Radiation & Nuclear Science unit, responsible for radiation related regulatory compliance, quality and staff training. He assists the Principal Health Physicist with the management and training of the health physicists and radiochemists within the unit.

John has an interest in Monte Carlo modelling of radiation transport which was fostered during his PhD and is able to provide the unit with the capacity to conduct environmental radiological modelling.

Previous career experience include radiation physicist, regulator with Queensland Health, and teaching. He has previously acted as an expert advisor and witness for the Australian Parliament Senate Select Committee on the dangers of radioactive waste.

John is also currently a fully registered teacher and has supervised post-graduate research students.
