National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME)
The national professional organization of physician medical examiners, medicolegal death investigators and death investigation system administrators who perform the official duties of the medicolegal investigation of deaths of public interest in the United States.

Organization of Scientific Area Committees
OSAC is part of an initiative by NIST and the Department of Justice to strengthen forensic science in the United States. The organization is a collaborative body of more than 500 forensic science practitioners and other experts who represent local, state, and federal agencies; academia; and industry.

OSAC Medicolegal Death Investigation Subcommittee
The Medicolegal Death Investigation Subcommittee will focus on standards and guidelines related to sudden, unnatural, unexplained or suspicious deaths, including homicides, suicides, unintentional fatal injuries, drug-related deaths and other deaths that are sudden or unexpected; determination of the cause and manner of death.
