Organic Chemistry has maintained close collaboration with QAEHS (University of Queensland) over many years with joint projects in emerging environmental pollutants, and access to state of the art instrumentation such as time of flight mass spectrometry, and high resolution mass spectrometry not currently available in FSS.
Organic Chemistry also continues to work closely with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) in the Scientific on-call capability. Organic Chemistry has four of the five current on call officers. Organic Chemistry also continues to provide analysis of samples from chemical emergencies and community air monitoring during fires to QFES, as well as on going projects on fire-fighter exposure during fire fighting.
