The Forensic Property Point receipt, check, sort, register and distribute all samples submitted by the QPS for forensic testing. Our service ensures that procedures to maintain the chain of custody are applied correctly.
All property point facilities ensure safe access and storage, and the security of evidence and samples.
Public Health Property Point (PHPP) provides a high quality, efficient and professional service to both internal and external clients. PHPP receives, verifies, codes, processes, registers and delivers large volumes of samples for both Pathology and Public Health Laboratories.
We can receive between 300-400 samples daily. During outbreaks the daily volume can increase up to 1000 samples.
Our Pathology clients are Queensland HHS’s, Dialysis Units state-wide, SNP, QML, Mater, Royal Darwin, Path west Perth, Hunter Pathology, Launceston Pathology and many more. Our Public Health clients are all councils state-wide and private clients, approximately 1500 in total.
We support FSS laboratories by prioritising and processing samples efficiently, allowing turnaround times and KPI’s to be met. We liaise closely with FSS internal public and environmental health laboratories and Clinical Information Systems Support to ensure the veracity of data in our systems. We also perform large amounts of auditing and we report these statistics to the Managing Scientist of PEH monthly.
